Just Breathe
It’s been a terrible month. It’s been hard to relax and just breathe. The kids have been sick. Not just any regular old type of sick, but The Sickness and all that comes with The Sickness. The spewing of bodily fluids from both ends. Like the worst kind of firecracker ever. If there’s a world record for the number of times I can be vomited on, I’m sure I broke it. Are you sufficiently grossed out now? Bodily fluids don’t upset in the least. Occupational hazard. What does gross me out is the inadequate amount of latex gloves we keep on hand.
One week of The Sickness, one week of healthy happy kids, followed by The Sickness II: The Sickening.
The Sickness didn’t effect me or Chris but the sequel knocked us on our assess. We’ve been house hunting and thesis writing and just general life-living. The weather has been bone achingly cold. The kids, when not impaired by The Sickness, are dealing with cabin fever. And I’m Lysol-ing everything in sight to make sure this doesn’t turn into a trilogy. It’s like Lord of the Rings but way grosser. At least I think so. I never saw Lord of the Rings. Slept through the first movie and never wanted to see the others. I also couldn’t make it through The Hobbit. Tolkien needed an editor. A merciless one.
I do have a point to all this rambling. Honest.
We are trapped in the doldrums of winter. I’m so glad for this challenge which encourages me to get out of slump and push my creativity.
This picture was taken when Lex was over The Sickness II: The Sickening. He was all smiles and asked me to take his picture. That never happens. Right out of frame of this picture is Thalia “enjoying” her viewing of The Sickness II: The Sickening.
Join the challenge! It’s fun!

Thank you. It’s just been never ending sickness. Ugh.
Ugh! I feel your pain. Our entire family was taken down by The Sickness I and II. It was brutal! Hoping that things slow down for you and me both. Sounds like you might need a bigger break, though.
Thanks so much for joining us in the Nurture Photography Challenge. Don’t forget to share your favorite winter photos tomorrow (anything goes) and stop by for a freebie.

I cannot get over the color of your children’s eyes! They are both beautiful mixes of yours and your husband’s.
