Nearly Wordless Wednesday
If it’s Wednesday, it must be Nearly Wordless Wednesday. The Project 52 edition!
This week’s theme: HANDS!
I had this whole shoot in my mind. It was going to be glorious.
Then I looked at my calender and realized that I needed to have the first rough draft of my thesis into my thesis committee chair (doesn’t it sound so official?) by next week.
Which is awesome because I am overly organized and not a procrastinator at all.
Heh.
So I’m going to be spending this week not taking glorious pictures but instead buried eyebrow high in research. This is the glamorous life of a graduate student.
The lovely and talented Veronica is hosting a LensBaby challenge over on Google Plus. I got a LensBaby from the guy I bought my Pentax from. He was upgrading all his equipment to Canon and sold it to me for a steal. And he threw in the LensBaby gratis. Thank you Pentax angel!
It’s a LensBaby 1.0. It’s the original. It’s old school. It’s vintage. It’s an O.G. It’s a freaking pain in the butt to use.
I don’t mind manual focus. One of the great things about shooting Pentax is I can use all the lenses from 1975 onward. The problem is that those lenses don’t auto focus on DSLRs. Duh. I’m very good at manual focus most of the time.
The problem with the LensBaby is that I have to hold it down and wiggle (technical term) the lens. And my poor camera is incapable of telling me if what I want in focus is actually in focus. I ask so much of my beloved Pentax.
The Nearly Wordless Wednesday borrows from the monthly LensBaby challenge. Thalia’s toddler hands. Juicing a fresh orange.
