Nearly Wordless Wednesday
If it’s Wednesday, it must be Nearly Wordless Wednesday!
Life has been good. I’ve actually been keeping up with my Project 52 this year. Of course, we’re only 4 weeks in to the year but I made it two more weeks so far than I did last year. So I’m winning. I’ve thought about posting those photos here but that would bore me to keep re-posting the same pictures all over the internet. I already have enough issues keeping this space from being completely defunct.
I start a new job soon. I’m excited and nervous. I’ve been a registered nurse for nearly a decade but I decided to go back to school two years ago and become a nurse practitioner. Starting new things is exciting but nerve wracking. We’re settling into our house. All the costly need repair NOW type of surprises seem to have stopped (knock wood!) so we can actually do things that we really want to do without throwing our dollahs at things that legitimately need fixing. We want new floors and some furniture would be nice.
This week’s Nearly Wordless Wednesday is an artichoke. Confession: I have no idea how to cook an artichoke. I didn’t even know how to eat one until I was in my mid-late twenties. I mean look at this thing! It’s all hard and leafy. The first person who ate one must have been honegry.
I LOVE taking pictures of food. I probably love it more than pictures of people. People move and blink and don’t just sit still like food can. I can take my time and adjust things just the way I want. And shooting these with my incredibly heavy-manual-focus-only macro lens is like one of my nerd versions of heaven.
